Turning History Into Story
Hi, I’m Frances Bonney Jenner!
…
I write fiction novels about history for Middle Grade, YA and Adult readers, for parents, grandparents … actually, for everybody.
Each novel is a salute to my family; Prairie Journey for my poet grandmother, Ida Mae Hudnall, descended from pioneers; Outlaw Billy the Kid (aka Willam Bonney) for my father, Herbert Bonney; Pirate Anne Bonny for my mother, Ann Bonney. I don’t know that we are related to Anne and Billy, but we are connected by name.
All my years, I have been in love with beautiful writing and story, as well as readers of all ages. I hope you will find your way to reading and enjoying one of my novels or my published essays.
Anne Bonny
The year, 1718, South Carolina. Irish born, headstrong and just a hair over nineteen, Anne is infatuated by sailor John Bonny who visits her father’s plantation, offering Anne an adventurous life in the Bahamas as his wife. Her father disapproves and threatens to disown her. Will Anne disobey her father? And if she does, what will become of her?
Prairie Journey
When young Savannah travels west with her family in 1850, she meets adventure head-on and becomes an unlikely hero.
Billy The Kid
How did a boy like Billy, who started out as a good and bright and talented kid, become one of the most famous outlaws in history?
Guns
Every Family has a gun story. 28 authors share their favorite gun stories. Enjoy my essays, Billy and the Gun and The GIft of the Gun.
